In 2009 The Watchmen arrives on the big Screen to the anticipation of many and the confusion of others.
The Watchmen appears, based on the trailer to be an action packed Superhero flick with a dark and sexy undertone. This message if not true for the many people out there who have not read the novel 10 times.
There is a very good chance and anticipation is that the movie will be ill received, for a couple reasons
I wanted to simply give a prelude to what we can expect to hear when the movie finally see it's birth in live action.
The Watchmen for those of you who are not familiar, is for all intensive purposes, a group of Psychologically troubled, Batman-esk Vigilante characters. All of which do not have any super powers, With one Major MAJOR exception.
Doc Manhattan.
So what does this movie break down to, Firstly all the action scenes that appear in the trailer are Flashbacks, save one or two.
It's Important to know that this movie is almost frame for frame true to the comic book cells, and anyone who has read the novel can vouch for this. The will inevitably be parts of the story removed and speculation is that the Psychologist's note section will be removed from the plot, which again for those who have read the novel you know exactly what I'm talking about.
The true issue with this movie is the expectation that people have created for Superhero movies, they thing that should be all about good guy bad guy and saving the girl, because the good guys are bad guys and Terribly terribly flawed.
It illustrates the true psychology that it would take for someone to run around in a costume and mask.

Anyone expecting this type of movie will need to stay home, simply because The Watchmen is Far and Above any simple plot construction. The movie is a psychological commentary that still holds true to some aspects of the government.
Although set in to the Coldwar back drop the concept of international enemies and America
having the button to push still holds.
The truth is anyone who wants to grasp the intensity and gravity of this film needs to read the novel, there is a reason that it won the Hugo award and why Time magazines put it on it's top 100 novels list.
This film will not a be a bring your kids movie and it will affect you long after you leave.
See you Next

Usually it's the soundtrack/songs that can bring a movie to life, but this is one of those rare situations where the movie revitilizes the soundtrack/song (Ask Tarantino what I mean). Expect Smashing Pumpkins to have a bounceback in their career all because of the producers' genious idea to bring this gem of a song back into the spotlight. I myself forgot about this song until I saw this trailer.
